Bobcat T770 Oil Filter Cross Reference Info

Last Updated: 9/23/2022 The Bobcat T770 and T870 are two of the most popular and widely used skid steers on the market. The T770 comes in at 92hp with the T870 right at 100hp. The added horsepower of the T870 gives it a slightly higher lifting capacity. Both are extremely capable machines, and some of the best machines ever made by Bobcat. There are many of these skid steers being used today with thousands and thousands of hours on them, still running extremely well. This guide will provide you the Bobcat T770 oil filter cross reference information you need to keep yours reliably running for years to come.

Bobcat T770 Oil Filter Cross Reference

The T770 and T870 use many of the same filters, so this guide will apply to both machines. Be sure to double check our filter cross reference notes for the filters that vary between serial numbers of the T770. Its important to remember that Bobcat branded filters are not actually made by Bobcat. All equipment manufacturers have one of the major filter brands (Fleetguard, Donaldson, etc). Using a high quality aftermarket filter in your Bobcat can be a significant cost savings, without sacrificing any quality or reliability. The brand of filter matters far less than simply changing oil and filters at the correct hour intervals. On to the Bobcat T770 oil filter cross reference charts:

The engine oil capacity of the Bobcat T770 is 13.3 quarts or roughly 3.3 gallons of 15w40 or 10w30. The top rated oil for the T770 and T780 is an oil that is changed at the correct time. We can’t stress enough, the best oil for your engine is one that is clean (or relatively clean at least). Going far past the recommended hour intervals (for both oil and filters) is a bad way to spend a bunch of money replacing your engine or hydraulic system. That being said, we recommend Rotella T5 Synthetic Blend and Rotella T6 Full Synthetic. The full synthetic T6 is a little bit more money but offers a little higher grade of wear protection. If you commit to religiously changing oil and filters the T5 will do just fine as well. The added protection of a synthetic blend or full synthetic is well worth the small added cost compared to breakdowns and downtime. Think of it as really cheap insurance.
