The engine oil capacity of the Kubota M7040 is 11.6 quarts (2.9 gal) of 15w40. We recommend using a full synthetic oil for the extended wear protection it offers. If you are very diligent about oil changes a synthetic blend isn’t a bad choice either, at a bit lower price point. There isn’t any reason to use a conventional oil at this point, synthetics and blends are far superior in every facet of performance and reliability. Rotella T6 full synthetic is our first choice in terms of performance, but OEM Kubota oil and Rotella T5 synthetic blend aren’t far behind.
